Contest

On the Veeam Facebook page, we are starting a series of weekly trivia questions. These questions will be based on the content of the Top 10 Best Practices for VMware Data Protection eBook by Eric Siebert.

Here is how the trivia campaign contest will work. Each Wednesday at 1:00 PM Eastern for 8 weeks, we will post a question related to the eBook on the Facebook page. All answers can be found within the Top 10 Best Practices for VMware Data Protection. The first person to answer the question correctly will win a $25 Amazon.com gift card. Of course, there are a few rules:

  • Each person can only win once
  • The sequence of the Facebook wall replies will be the official time keeper
  • The answers to the questions must be concise, direct answers. (i.e. no copying and pasting of an entire chapter)

Be sure to check the Veeam Facebook wall to answer the questions and enter for your chance to win a $25 Amazon.com gift card!

The post announcing the winners is a bit late. We were supposed to announce the winners at Veeam's VMworld party, but for those of you who were there, you know it was a bit noisy ;-) There was also a lot going on at VMworld so I didn't have time to get this post together and properly audited to announce the winners.

While we received over 20 registrations for the contest, we ended up with 12 winners of the $25 charity gift card. Of those 12 winners, we had 9 blog posts directing people to download Veeam Reporter Free Edition, the other 3 used twitter and other means to generate interest and drive downloads.

The recipients of the $25 charity gift cards are listed below, along with their blogs and their entries, this list is sorted alphabetically by last name:

Rick Vanover! Rick is the grand prize winner and recipient of the $1,000 charity gift card. Congratulations Rick on driving the most downloads of Veeam Reporter Free Edition!

Honorable mention and $250 charity gift card goes to Jason Boche. It was a close race between Jason and Rick for the winner, less than 10 downloads separated them.

Thanks to everyone for your assistance in helping us get the word out!

While you can still order one from the Printer Owl, Veeam has placed another special order for both the US and Europe to be distributed at various events (VMUG’s, etc). Please read your Veeam newsletters for announcements on when and where we’ll be with more vCalendars!

Happy Holidays From Veeam!

Just a quick update to let everyone know that the Veeam videos for the VMworld contest are in and have been posted to the forums for voting. I can't endorse any of them here but of course I'm sure we all have favorites. Do you? Well then vote!

We've heard that some people are having issues registering on our forums. We do apologize for that but in an effort to keep out spam we have to dis-allow certain email domains (gmail, hotmail) and we also have a CAPTCHA that has been made a bit more user friendly (black and white instead of color). I didn't realize until just the other day that some color CAPTCHA's are very difficult for people who are color blind.

Anyway, vote for your favorite and be sure to leave a comment. There's a bonus prize of a Flip going to the person with the best comment.

I took a little time today to create a sample video for Veeam's "Win a trip to VMworld San Francisco" video contest. I really hope that our actual entries are much more exciting that this.
