Multiple users accessing Veeam console

Post by nickf »

Is it by design that if someone has the Veeam console open that it won't open for anyone else (this is with v5)? I guess I can see some logic behind it if so but it's also a bit annoying if someone leaves a session logged in with the console open and you need to check something (this is all via RDP sessions onto the server running Veeam, if it matters the Veeam server is just in RDP admin mode rather than a full terminal server). If that situation does occur is it usually OK just to kill the console process and if so which one(s)? With something like vCenter we have several people using the console via different sessions at the same time.

Yes, this is by design right now. Generally speaking, if the purpose of logging on is to check on, or control the jobs, then you should simply use Enterprise Manager web UI which provides comprehensive reporting and supports multi-user access natively.

You can kill the Veeam shell process to shut down open UI.

But..when you need to make changes to multiple (IE over 100) machines...it would be nice to have a second set of hands helping out!

Agree, although it might be easier to use PowerShell script if you need to update multiple jobs at once.
