"In our experience, the disaster recovery benefits from server virtualization are important selling points for small businesses. However, small businesses also need simple and elegant solutions that are reliable, self-healing, and provide adequate notification of success and failure. They do not have the resources to deal with complex or maintenance-intensive products. Veeam Backup & Replication is a solution that offers enterprise backup features to small business environments for a surprisingly affordable price. Our work with VMware's Data Recovery virtual appliance has caused us to conclude that while it is a promising work in progress, it does not yet provide the features that are important to small businesse, and it has not achieved the level of reliability of Veeam's Backup & Replication. VMware has provided a world-class virtualization infrastructure, and Veeam knows how to protect it."
