It seems like just yesterday that many here at Veeam were feverishly preparing for VMworld in San Francisco, and yet it’s already come and gone so quickly. Veeam had a great presence at the event and we are also happy to be preparing for VMworld in Barcelona as well! There are a number of key takeaways from San Francisco that I’ll highlight here and also outline as a teaser for what is coming in Barcelona!
We had two opportunities in the form of a session to enrich the VMworld community in San Francisco: Anton Gostev and Doug Hazelman presented BCO5362 Veeam Backup & Replication v7 Deep Dive and Rick Vanover (that’s me!) presented STP1004 Veeam Backup & Replication v7: Seven Designs for Success.
Both sessions will be repeated in Barcelona, so if you didn’t attend San Francisco be sure to register now for these sessions. We also will be presenting at the vBrownBag Tech Talks in Barcelona, there you’ll see Chris Dearden deliver to the vBrownBag stage.
Veeam was happy to be in the Best of Breed Awards published by Virtualization Review. Doug Hazelman is shown here accepting the award from Al Tiano Here is the section on Veeam Backup & Replication from the article at Virtualization Review:
Best Backup, Data Protection: Veeam Backup & Replication -- We looked at many of the contenders on the floor, but the choice here was unanimous.
Veeam won it last year and it's because the editors agreed that the product has a maturity about it that makes it fairly uncomplicated and direct when it comes to deployment, with a proven reliability. Those are trademarks of things we'd expect from a backup tool.
Videos Recorded at VMworld
One of the great things about VMworld is that there is no shortage of being able to network with the virtualization community. You never know when you will run into someone, and in my case they may put you on camera! Here are two videos from David Marshall at VMBlog and from Stephen Foskett at TechFieldDay with me giving an update of what is new with v7 of Veeam Backup & Replication.
At the Veeam booth we had incredible traffic, and we showed the new features of Veeam Backup & Replication v7 of interest to the VMware audience there. Some of the key features we showed (and will show in Barcelona) include:
If you will be at VMworld in Barcelona, be sure you can find time to catch up with Veeam; we’ll have a lot of our EMEA team there and of course our famous party. We look forward to seeing you there!
