In Veeam Monitor, disk space graphs for datastores contain gaps

Challenge

Disk space graphs for datastores contain gaps during periods when the Veeam Monitor Service was not running.

Example:

User-added image

Cause

This happens because historical data is not preserved for this metric by the vCenter Server and ESX hosts. Veeam Monitor collects this data in real time. If the Veeam Monitor Service is stopped, gaps will be displayed on the graph.

Solution

No solution is necessary as this is an expected behavior.
