Upgrading Veeam ONE to version 8 in large environments

Challenge

Upgrading Veeam ONE to version 8 in large environments

Cause

If the database used by Veeam ONE 7 has grown over 10 GB, we recommend to rebuild indexes inside Veeam ONE SQL Database to ensure smooth upgrade to Veeam ONE 8.

Solution

Follow the steps below.

1. Download the
RebuildIndexes.sql here.
2. Stop Veeam ONE services.
3. Create a backup of Veeam ONE 7 database.
4. Run RebuildIndexes.sql against Veeam ONE database.
5. Start Veeam ONE services.

More information

The time required for the script to complete depends on the database size and other environmental factors. Once the rebuilding of indexes is finished, you can proceed with installing Veeam ONE 8.
