Challenge

You want to install VeeamCDP I/O filter on a cluster that will be used for continuous data protection (CDP), but the installation fails with the following error “The agent's workflow is blocked until it's required solutions are re-mediated externally in vSphere Lifecycle Manager”.

Cause

vSphere LifeCycle Management installed on your cluster requires you to remediate updates for hosts in your cluster.

Solution

To install the VeeamCDP I/O filter on a cluster, do the following:

  1. In the VMware vSphere client, navigate to updates of a cluster for which you want to install the filter.
  2. For the hosts on the cluster, click Remediate All.

  1. In the opened window, accept the terms of EULA and click Start Remediation.

  1. Wait some time (about 5 minutes) to complete the operation.
  2. In the Veeam Backup & Replication console, launch the VeeamCDP Filter Management wizard.
  3. Despite the cluster has the “Veeam I/O filter is up to date” status, perform the installation for this cluster once again.
