  • Aggregate Veeam repository tasks for Nutanix Objects targets should not exceed 16 total task slots per available Nutanix Objects load balancer instance (current limit of 1000 connections per LB). If additional parallel processing is required, it is recommended to scale out load balancer instances.
  • When self-signed certificates are utilized in certain restricted network configurations (dark sites, etc.), the TLS connection establishment experiences connection delays during the CRL (Certificate Revocation List) checks built into the S3 gateway operating system.

Disabling CRL checking is not a recommended security best practice, however in restricted networking scenarios the setting below will disable TLS revocation checks for all interactions with object storage endpoints performed by Windows gateway machine(s) where the registry value is created –

Path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Veeam\Veeam Backup and Replication

Name: S3TLSRevocationCheck

Type: DWORD

Value: 0

Note: from Veeam Backup & Replication version 12, the registry key has been renamed from S3TLSRevocationCheck to ObjectStorageTLSRevocationCheck
