Veeam® Agent for Microsoft Windows is a simple backup agent designed to ensure the Availability of your Windows workloads by providing backup and recovery for physical and cloud-based servers and workstations, as well as endpoint devices that belong to remote users.
It is a standalone product and is not part of Veeam Backup & Replication™ or Veeam Availability Suite™.
While Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows (all versions) optionally integrates with Veeam Backup & Replication, it is a standalone product that does not require the purchase of any other Veeam products to work. When combined with Veeam Availability Suite™*, Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows** delivers the ability to manage and protect ALL workloads — virtual, physical, cloud — from a single Veeam pane of glass.
You can use the FREE version of Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows to back up Microsoft Windows-based physical servers (including Windows Server 1803), workstations and public cloud workloads.
All versions of Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows support Windows Server 1803, but Server licenses include server-specific features (e.g., application-aware processing, file indexing and search, server-friendly scheduling and retention, etc.), making it the best choice for enterprise-level physical server backups.
FREE licenses of Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows will be supported through Veeam’s FREE product support policy. According to this policy, Veeam will attempt to provide support for users, but does not provide response goals or response guarantees for this service. Workstation and Server licenses of Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows include 24.7.365 technical support for the term of the purchased license — from one (1) year to five (5) years.
If you believe the issue is not specific to Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows (for example, a general Veeam backup repository issue), and you have an active maintenance agreement, you can open a support case normally, regardless of if the issue is related to Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows or Veeam Backup & Replication.
