Veeam announced that it will enable backup from SAN snapshots supporting HP StoreVirtual Storage and HP 3PAR StoreServ Storage. This new capability is included in Veeam Backup & Replication™ v7, which was also announced today in a companion release. Backup from Storage Snapshots dramatically improves recovery point objectives (RPOs) of VMware backup and significantly reduces the impact of backup activities on the production environment.

It ensures security by using a one-time username and password and works more than 6 times faster than SCP.

Veeam announced the release of Veeam Monitor, an application to monitor VMware virtual machines’ performance and resource usage. Veeam Monitor provides a unified view of the performance and resource usage of all Virtual Machines running on a VMware Server or VMware Workstation.

Running Veeam Monitor is similar to running multiple Windows Task Managers on each virtual machine and combining the result into a single monitoring console. In addition, it provides a view of the specific usage of the subsystems such as the CPU, Memory, the Disk, Network and Pagefile.
