As the VP of Global Data Center Sales at Cisco, Cynthia Johnson is charged with developing and leading growth strategies that drive revenues and open new markets across Cisco’s compute, cloud, converged infrastructure, software and enterprise application portfolio of solutions. Most recently, Cynthia has led all aspects of sales enablement and strategy for Hyperflex and Metapod, using her experience of successfully launching new products to drive momentum and adoption across both partners and customers. Cynthia has direct line responsibility for Cisco’s field-based sales engagements, accelerating enterprise application sales for SAP HANA, VDI, Big Data and Microsoft Cloud, as well as Cisco’s UCS Converged Infrastructures, HyperFlex, OpenStack and cloud solutions. An expert at enlisting buy-in, Cynthia drives successful outcomes by inspiring others to do more and be more, believing first in themselves.
Cynthia has been proud to lead several product launches, identifying and integrating new business models that drive value for customers and partners from inception and incubation through to launch and global rollout. She has identified and participated in M&A activities — both new acquisitions as well as onboarding strategic technology partnerships. Cisco’s organically grown solutions, such as UCS, have flourished under her leadership. She delivered the strategies that saw explosive market growth of Cisco’s x86 platform into the number one position for the Americas and number two for the world. She is excited about the potential this year holds as Cisco’s wide portfolio of offerings continues to drive value across a diverse group of customers, including Fortune 1000 companies, global service providers, public sector accounts and small to medium businesses.

In her 10+ year tenure at Cisco, Cynthia has held a number of sales leadership positions, including senior director global data center sales & strategy, director of data center sales for the America’s, regional manager, northeast financial services, regional manager, government, education and medical (GEM), regional manager, service provider, and business consultant for Cisco’s Internet Business Solutions Group (IBSG). Prior to joining Cisco, Cynthia held sales positions at Merisel, Siebel CRM Systems and Sun Microsystems.

Cynthia is a graduate of Simmons College, where she holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. She currently resides in the Boston area with her husband and two daughters. She enjoys the outdoors, including paddle-boarding, hiking along Cape Cod trails with her golden retriever and coaching her daughters’ soccer teams.
