Joined Veeam in 2008, as the first support personnel based in North America. There were 2 of us running support at that time, with me based in the US, and my counterpart in EMEA. From there I've built the team from the ground up, from just me, to now an organization of over 160 managers and engineers in North America. I've been a hybrid throughout much of my tenure here at Veeam, operating in a technical support role as well as a manager.
The first Veeam Backup version I was privileged to support was all the way back on v2.0, so I have seen every iteration of all products released since that time, up to and including v9.5 of Veeam Backup. Currently I am overseeing all support operations in the Americas, including LATAM, and most certainly, US Federal, and working hard to continue to make Veeam Technical Support the best in the business.

Joe Houghes is a Senior Infrastructure Engineer from Texas focused on automating all of us out of our usual IT jobs and freeing us to perform higher-level tasks.
He is a leader of both the Austin VMware & PowerShell User Groups, and can typically be found in a training session preaching the need for sharing and understanding technologies that we leverage. He's also easy to spot by the big grin and the greeting of "Howdy Y'all."
Joe works to evangelize the message that automation may require more in-depth thinking and focus on performing a task once, as it is typically not someone's standard method, it is then repeatable and consistent. It requires us to take our internalized IT experience, which has often become muscle memory, and quantify/document/convert that knowledge into code that will run through a series of error checks.
Joe tries to help others understand why we should do the easy tasks better, and he challenges everyone to push themselves outside of their comfort zone and learn more about any topic of interest. But he will always gently encourage someone to then try and script it with PowerShell.
Joe is also a believer that everyone should stop letting fear keep you from sharing with others and teaching them whatever you can. He wants everyone to have confidence in the fact that we each have a unique perspective to share with others.
