During a SureBackup (or SureReplica) job that processes a VM that has been configured to use the Domain Controller role, a Windows “blue screen” error occurs on the Veeam Backup Server.
Veeam Backup & Replication software mounts the VM’s VMDK using VDK which can cause some anti-virus solutions to crash the Veeam Backup Server.
First, isolate the behavior by temporarily disabling anti-virus to confirm this is the root cause of your problem.
If the system does not bluescreen after disabling the anti-virus please review:
KB1999: How to configure antivirus exclusions to prevent interaction with Veeam Backup & Replication
You will also want to exclude the installation folder, typically "C:\Program Files\Veeam\Backup and Replication" and "C:\Program Files (x86)\Veeam", on your Veeam Backup Server.
