License cannot be installed in Veeam ONE

Challenge

When installing the license file, the following error message may occur: 
 
License signature is invalid

Cause

Sometimes the license check module is unable to process the license key correctly, some certificates are missing, outdated or machine has no internet connection to verify them.

Solution

If the certificates are missing, install them manually as per this KB article.

If one of the certificates is outdated, follow the steps from the below Microsoft article to change the certificate revocation policy:

If the machine is not connected to the internet (so the certificate status cannot be verified) you need to follow the steps below to completely disable certificate verification:

1. Control Panel --> Internet Options --> Advanced
2. Scroll down to the Security section
3. Uncheck the box next to "Check for publisher's certificate revocation"
   Uncheck the box next to "Check for server certificate revocation"
   Uncheck the box next to "Check for signatures on downloaded programs"
4. Click OK
5. Restart your computer
