Free NFR licenses from Veeam!

As the holidays approach us around the world, we at Veeam are happy to have a number of strategies that reach out to the core of the virtualization community. Just in this year, we’ve released Veeam Backup Free Edition, which has been a great hit. We also are continuing our commitment to the VMware and Microsoft virtualization communities with our NFR license program.

The NFR license program allows practicing IT pros with the VMware VCP, VCI, and vExpert designations as well as Microsoft MCP, MCTS, and MVP holders to get up to two CPU sockets of Veeam Backup & Replication. These CPU socket licenses are fully functional but are intended to be used in a non-production environment, such as a home lab.

Hi,

Reading your post makes me believe that only Microsoft specialists or VMware specialists are allowed to deal with backups (VM Backups).

Or perhaps Veeam is only designed to be used by a none backup specialists.

As a head of a specialized backup team in a big financial company (dealing with a large range of backup products) and at this moment evaluating Veeam Backup, I am wondering if we are qualifying the right product

Seriously, limiting your offer only to Microsoft specialists (backup speaking) is not the right way (only my opinion) to promote Veeam.

Not sure you read the post at all. It does not say this offer is limited to Microsoft specialists at all. It says this offer is for IT PROS who are learning vmware and other vmware technologies.

Thus, you being in the “big financial company” shouldn’t even think of using this offer as an evaluation of Veeam because it wouldn’t apply to you or your organization. You should go the standard route and download an eval copy of the product and get their representatives and support involved in testing it out in your big financial company.

Dude, reading is fundamental. It helps you to not make yourself look foolish when you bash Veeam or any other company that is looking to offer an easy way for individuals to learn and increase their skills set while also promoting their products.

Hi Hicham, we have always targeted and identified the core customer of Veeam to be the VM admin. In the smaller organizations, that is the same person who does backups.

In regards to VMware or Microsoft “crowds” we speak to the larger VM Admin in both ecosystems.

Sure, larger organizations have the separation you speak of and we have success there as well.

Further, this isn’t really the right vehicle for your evaluation.
