Edwin Weijdema

Edwin Weijdema is the Field CTO for EMEA at Veeam, serving as a strategic bridge between business and technology. With over 30 years of experience as a cybersecurity thought leader, translator, and storyteller, Edwin helps organizations strengthen their business resilience, modernize their data management, and prepare for the challenges of an increasingly digital and threat‑driven world.

Throughout his career, Edwin has guided enterprises through complex transformations in cybersecurity, data protection, and governance, risk, and compliance (GRC). His deep expertise spans business resilience, digital transformation, and emerging technologies, enabling him to help leaders align IT strategy with organizational goals.

Before becoming Field CTO, Edwin held multiple key roles at Veeam, including Global Technologist – Product Strategy and Principal Security Architect EMEA, where he shaped Veeam’s security vision and product innovation across the region. Prior to joining Veeam, he served as Technology Leader Datacenter at Axians, Enterprise Architect at Imtech CS, and Business Consultant at Centric. Edwin also served as Association Chairman for VMGuru.com, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing within the virtualization and cloud community.

A dynamic public speaker and recognized industry voice, Edwin has presented at leading global events including DACH CISO Summit, VMware Explore, VeeamON, HPE Discover, Tech Field Day, IDC Forums, Gartner IOCS, Gartner IT Symposium/Xpo, and Cybersec Europe. He frequently engages with C‑level communities and executive audiences at Veeam 100 Summit, VeeamON Tours, Veeam Launchpad, Veeam TechExpo, Executive Cyber Security Forum, and numerous roundtables and executive dinners hosted by industry media such as Techzine.
