This Veeam Ready test was performed with storage having a configuration that includes SSD/Flash.  As such, this classification only applies to similar configurations in which the same amount or more SSD drives are used.  The use of non-SSD drives may negatively impact performance.

General product family overview:
VSP One Block is a block storage solution from Hitachi Vantara with NVMe all-flash scalable architecture.
It offers additional protection for hard drives by enabling Dynamic Drive Protection (DDP) feature. This provides additional hardware security along with the Deduplication and Compression for the volumes.

  • Read/write caching: Size: 256GB Type: DDR5 DIMM Use: It acts as a medium for temporarily storing data in rapidly accessible storage memory. By default, the storage uses Cache write-back to transfer data. The management area has become bigger due to the new functions on VSP One Block.
  • Multipathing / link aggregation used: No
  • Array deduplication used in testing: Yes
  • Array compression used in testing: Yes

Additional storage settings: 
With VSP One Block series, it is always recommended to use Dynamic Drive Protection (DDP) while creating a Dynamic Pool (DP). During the current verification, the vendor enabled DDP while creating a DP Pool. By default, VSP One Block only supports DP volumes with  Capacity Savings enabled. During the current verification, the volumes used had Deduplication and Compression enabled.
