This Veeam Ready test was performed with storage having a configuration that includes SSD/Flash.  As such, this classification only applies to similar configurations in which the same amount or more SSD drives are used.  The use of non-SSD drives may negatively impact performance.

General product family overview:

Midrange platform that contains dual E5700 controllers.  Each controller has 64GB RAM and one 25Gbps iSCSI host interface card with 4-ports.  The controllers are in a 4U60 drive enclosure that can hold up to 60 drives, either NL-SAS, 10k SAS or SSDs.

  • Networking: MTU=9000
  • Caching: Read and write cache enabled.
  • Read/ Write caching: For the 64GB E5700 controller the read cache size is 35.5GB and the write cache is 16GB.
    Read cache is used to store data before sending it to the host and write cache is used to store the data before writing it to disks in the array.
  • Multipathing / link aggregation used: yes
