Enough About ROT. Let's Move It.

You already know the number. Somewhere between 60–90% of what's sitting on your NAS and in your backup repositories isn't active data. It's Redundant Obsolete, or Trivial (ROT), quietly occupying capacity meant for the data you'd recover in a crisis.

In a previous demo, we showed you where the line falls. This time, we’ll show you what happens next.

After a short recap, we’ll go live inside Veeam Data Platform to demonstrate exactly how that data moves, not in theory, but step-by-step on screen. You'll see two distinct paths to archive:

• NAS Direct to Archive: Unstructured NAS data moves straight into Veeam Vault Archive. No landing zone, staging repository, or detour through a tier you're trying to free up.
• Scale-Out Backup Repository (SOBR): Operational backups land in Veeam Vault first, staying recovery-ready when you need them. Then, based on policy, they age automatically into Veeam Vault Archive for long-term retention.

Before any of it reaches archive, you'll watch it pass through an inline malware scan, live, so you can see exactly what "verified clean" looks like in practice. And to prove the round-trip works, we'll pull a file back out of archive and restore it in front of you.
