Veeam Explorer for Exchange fails to install

Challenge

When installing or upgrading to version 6.5 of Veeam Backup & Replication, Veeam Explorer for Exchange fails to install with an error similar to the following:

<<< Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC90.CRT,version="9.0.21022.8",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",processorArchitecture="amd64",type="win32"

Cause

This issue is still under review; however, it does appear to be a C Runtime exception.

Solution

In the few cases this has been reported, running the following command on the Veeam Backup & Replication server from a command prompt has found any issues and corrected them from the installation cache or service pack:

sfc /scannow

Once this has finished you can re-run the installation executable.
