Starting with Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5u4, create the following registry value on the Veeam Backup server prior to starting the restore process.
Key Location: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Veeam\Veeam Backup and Replication
Value Name: AzurePreferPrivateIpAddressesForProxyandLinuxAppliance
Value Type: DWORD (32-Bit) Value
Value Data: 1 (Default: 0)
The Veeam Backup server must resolve the Azure Proxy's full DNS name label to an internal IP address on the Azure Virtual Network subnet.
The Azure DNS Name is typically in the format of <AzureDnsLabelName>.<AzureLocation>.cloudapp.netThis can be verified in the configuration of the Azure proxy in Veeam and/or the Azure Portal.
