Veeam products may fail to install on Windows 10 version 20H2


An attempt to install Veeam products may fail with the following error: "Setup failed".

This error may affect the following products:

  • Veeam Backup & Replication
  • Veeam Availability Orchestrator
  • Veeam Service Provider Console
  • Veeam ONE


If a Microsoft SQL Server is not installed locally or remotely and you select the Install new instance of SQL Server option to install Microsoft SQL Server locally on the backup server, the installation fails due to internal issues.


Update Microsoft Edge on this backup server first. For more information, refer to this Microsoft KB article.
