Unsupported license deployment alarm in Veeam Service Provider Console

KB ID: 4132

Last Modified: 2021-05-07

Veeam Service Provider Console displays the alarm:

"Unsupported license deployment. Shared license key"
The Alarm Description states:

"The same license ID <UUID> has been detected for the backups servers: <name-of-VBR-servers>"

This alarm occurs when the same license is detected as having been installed on more than one Veeam Backup & Replication server that is managed by the VSPC server.
Explanation as seen in Veeam Service Provider Console

Starting with the Veeam Service Provider Console v6, shared keys and cloned backup servers will no longer be supported for future integration with Veeam’s VCSP Pulse Automatic Usage Reporting mechanisms. Each Veeam Backup & Replication installation must have a unique license.

Prior to Veeam Service Provider Console v6 this alarm is informational only and does not affect product functionality. However, it is strongly advised that to ensure future combability new unique license keys be created and deployed for each Veeam Backup & Replication server. This will ensure full compatibility with VCSP Pulse auto-reporting mechanisms being released with Service Provider Console 6 release.

Please note that it is possible to disable this alarm in the Service Provider Console by selecting [Configuration] > [Notifications] > [Alarms Management] in the list of alarm look for the one named 'Unsupported license deployment. shared license key usage' and disable it.
