Article Applicability
This article concerns a behavior observed when using Veeam Plug-in for Microsoft SQL Server.

Challenge

When selecting Databases to Backup Up, the Instance drop-box does not list an option for cluster\instance; instead, there is only an option for node\instance.

In some rare instances, the cluster\instance is available to be selected, but after selecting it, no databases are listed.

Solution

HotFix Installation Instructions:

  1. Open the Apps & Features (Add/Remove Program) and verify that Veeam Plug-in for Microsoft SQL is listed as version 12.0.2.1422.

If the Plug-in version is listed as 12.0.0.1402 or 12.0.0.1420, please upgrade the Veeam Plug-in for Microsoft SQL using the installer found on the Veeam Backup & Replication 12 P20230412 ISO in \Plugins\Microsoft SQL\x64\.
12.0.2.1422
  1. Download the hotfix to the server where Veeam Plug-in for Microsoft SQL is installed.
