Challenge

When creating a new AWS S3 Object Storage Repository with the recently launched AWS Israel region (il-central-1), configuring a Helper Appliance fails with the error:

Unauthorized to make an AWS request.
Error

Cause

This error occurs because the AWS SDK libraries used by Veeam Backup & Replication 12 are incompatible with the new AWS Israel region.

Solution

To resolve this compatibility issue, a hotfix is available for Veeam Backup & Replication 12 P20230718. Please create a Veeam Support case and mention Issue# 569734.

 

More Information

The next release of Veeam Backup & Replication will include updated AWS SDK libraries which will resolve this issue.
