Helper Appliance Sizes
The table below documents the actual EC2 Instance Type / Azure VM Size that Veeam Backup & Replication will use based on the Helper/Archiver Appliance setting that was selected when:
| Proxy Appliance Setting | EC2 Instance Type | Azure VM Size |
| Cost-Effective | m5a.large | Standard_D2 |
| Optimal (recommended) | m5.xlarge | Standard_F4 |
| Extreme | c5.4xlarge | Standard_F8 |

If limitations on EC2 Instance Type or Azure VM Size are in place that prevent Veeam Backup & Replication from creating the Proxy Appliance, the Archive Job will fail.
For example, if the Azure VM size that Veeam Backup & Replication attempts to create is not allowed, the following error will occur:
Failed to create Microsoft Azure VM: Resource was disallowed by policy. Reasons: 'This is not an allowed Size, only approved sizes are A0, Av2, B, Dv4, Dsv4, Dv5, Dsv5, Fsv2'.
