Banco Original has a steady growth in the number of customers each year. In one year (between May 2019 and May 2020), the number of customers jumped 382%. The estimate is that in 2021 this increase will be even more significant, above 500%. For this reason, the institution needs solutions that support its growth, in addition to providing a stable, available, safe and agile environment ready to launch new services and products frequently, meeting business demands with a good time to market, and favoring the customer experience.
Banco Original saw the opportunity with Veeam’s solutions to have an even more an available and safe environment capable of meeting its needs. Veeam was already an option for the managers since they learned about the company’s solutions at events, in conversations with other clients and market analysts. As a result, the IT team requested a Proof of Concept (POC) of the Veeam Backup & Replication technology from V8 Consulting, a Platinum Veeam ProPartner.
The bank chose Veeam’s technology to be part of its new data backup and restoration strategy because it can support the organization’s growth by offering a solution that recovers data instantly in the event of failure, being imperceptible to the end user.
Since 2015, Veeam Backup & Replication has been the main data backup and recovery solution for 99% of Banco Original’s virtualized environment. In addition, the institution is supported by the Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 technology, which protects all the bank’s mailboxes.

Besides the dramatic reduction of the backup time, from more than 40 hours to 5 minutes, Sims explained that another positive point in Veeam’s solution is its ability to provide many reports. “For us, banks, which have many audit processes, it makes management of our environment a lot easier, as it allows us to see if everything is working as it should. Furthermore, Veeam’s solutions are very intuitive and easy to use.”
Veeam’s solutions were implemented by the V8 Consulting team, which, in addition to assisting in support and service, also plays an important role as an advisor to the bank. V8 structured all the Proof of Value and designed the entire roadmap for implementing the solutions. “V8 Consulting helps us a lot; its specialists are always attentive to our needs and send us news that make sense for the bank.
