The business challenge
Mercedes-Benz Turk needed to maintain its leading position in high-quality products equipped with the latest technologies in Daimler AG’s global IT shared service center and Mercedes-Benz Turk R&D center. Before using Veeam, the recovery processes and tests required substantial time and manpower. All systems were under risk in terms of data recovery due to long processes. This was unacceptable in terms of business requirements and the SLA commitment provided to the external and internal customers, bus and truck production locations, sales, after sales and marketing departments and other critical business units. The need to recover as soon as possible if there was a failure was a critical challenge for the IT infrastructure and operation department.
The Veeam solution
The IT infrastructure and operations department decided to start using Veeam® Availability Suite™ to support the Always-On Availability of its data center, which enabled them to provide business units with continuous and secure access to services. A new continuous process for monthly automated backup scenarios, which do not require manpower, was initiated. The IT department team is now able to focus on strategic/ business priorities to support Mercedes-Benz’s brand leadership.
