Challenge

While attempting to upgrade/install Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager to v9 the error “No such service found” occurs.
 
For this KB to be applicable the following errors must be found within the CatalogSetup.log found in C:\ProgramData\Veeam\Setup\Temp

 
Doing action: VmaCredUI_Check 
Action start VmaCredUI_Check.

PROPERTY CHANGE: Modifying VmCustomDialogResult property. Its current value is '1'. Its new value: '0'. 
You can only select LOCAL SYSTEM for a new product installation.

Cause

The account specified in the installation wizard during upgrade does not have the permissions necessary.

Solution

Within the installation wizard choose the option to use the LOCAL SYSTEM account.
