Challenge

On Chinese localized servers, buttons will not appear on standard DPI, but will show up instead once the DPI is increased to large.

Solution

To resolve, use Medium DPI (120 – 125%) as opposed to Normal (Small) DPI (96 – 100%), or change the registry font settings.

Note that editing the registry to display the GUIs properly may cause unpredictable GUI issues in applications with explicit Chinese character localization.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\GRE_Initialize
  • GUIFont.CharSet = 128
  • GUIFont.Facename = Tahoma
  • GUIFont.Height = 8
