Error "One or more legacy replicas are detected in configuration remove them manually and try again" during upgrade to v7
Challenge
During version 7.x Upgrade from 6.x, you receive the error "One or more legacy replicas are detected in configuration remove them manually and try again".
Legacy Replicas are any replica created by Veeam Backup prior to version 6.x.
Cause
Legacy (Created prior to Version 6 of Veeam Backup) replicas are detected in the current configuration within the Backup and Replication server.
Solution
When upgrading from Veeam Backup & Replication 6.5 to version 7.0 and the above error is presented you will need to:
Cancel the v7.0 installer and open your 6.5.X installation
Remove all legacy replica jobs (if present).
Perform a ‘Remove from Replicas’ on any replica VMs that were created with legacy replica jobs within the ‘replicas’ pane.
Once all instances of legacy replicas are removed please perform the upgrade to version 7.0.
After the upgrade is complete you can follow the following KB to map to the existing replica (Procedure starts at step 9) http://www.veeam.com/kb1760
