Challenge

Installation of Veeam Backup & Replication fails with one of the following errors:

1. Cannot get 'Veeam Backup and Replication Service' service account name.

2. Failed to use specified user account.

Cause

Both of these issues occur when reinstalling Veeam.

 

Solution

To resolve the first issue, simply reboot the server where you are installing Veeam and run the installer again.

To resolve the second issue, you need to uninstall Veeam, reboot the server and re-run the installer.
