The Tenants of a Service Provider, who has recently upgraded to Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 version 7.0.0.3604 P20230512, may receive the following error when attempting to restore using Veeam Explorer for Microsoft Teams:
Tab type is not supported.
This error occurs because the tenant's deployment of Veeam Explorer for Microsoft Teams is outdated.
The version of Veeam Explorer for Microsoft Teams used by the tenant does not recognize the application IDs of tabs that were backed up as being supported. The tabs were backed up because the Service Provider updated to Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 7.0.0.3604 P20230512 which updates the logic for detecting which tab application IDs should be considered as supported and backed up.
To resolve this issue, update the Veeam Explorers in use by the Tenant to align with the Service Provider's Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 version.
For convenience, the Veeam Explorer patches for 7.0.0.3604 P20230512, which can be found in the \Patches\ folder on the Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 ISO, have been bundled into a single zip file available in the Download Information section of this article. The instructions below document how to use these Software Patchers (.msp) to update the Tenant's existing Veeam Explorer deployments.
Tenant Veeam Explorer Update Procedure:
Note: The VeeamExplorer*.msp files in the \Patches\ folder on the Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 ISO do not have version numbers in the filename.
