BAAR, Switzerland: May, 29 2019: Veeam Software, the leader in Backup solutions that deliver Cloud Data Management, today announced that it has appointed Charles O. Garner, CFA as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Mr. Garner is responsible for leading the global finance, legal, strategy and operations organizations, and is instrumental in structuring and scaling Veeam’s financial and operational capabilities as the company extends its leadership position into Cloud Data Management and software subscription models.
Mr. Garner has more than 20 years of experience in executive and senior leadership roles in finance, strategy and operations across enterprise software, software-as-a-service (SaaS) and financial technology. He brings a strong track record of driving growth and creating value in both publicly-traded and private-equity environments.

Before joining Veeam, Mr. Garner served as the CFO of Blackhawk Network, a publicly-traded, global financial technology company that was acquired by Silver Lake Partners. Mr. Garner’s experience includes having served as: the CFO and later the Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer of MedAssets, a publicly-traded SaaS and technology-enabled services business; a management consultant with Bain & Company; and, in software design and business development roles at American Management Systems (now CGI).
Mr. Garner earned his MBA from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Management Information Systems from Loyola College in Maryland, and has also earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
