Veeam® Backup & Replication™ v9 has introduced many new and exciting features. While some of them can be easily enabled in an existing environment, others require additional planning, as they introduce important changes and different behaviors.

Technologies such as BitLooker™, Per-VM Backup chains and Scale-out Backup Repositories can dramatically improve the backup performance of any environment, but proper planning is needed before introducing it into an existing environment.

This paper describes a real environment where Veeam Backup & Replication v8 is already installed. I will upgrade the software to v9, and then offer step by step introduction and configuration instructions for these three technologies.

More and more companies are considering the cloud as viable and simpler alternative to more traditional solutions such as tape to have one copy of their backups off-site. It’s also easier compared to managing and maintaining a secondary data center to achieve the same goal. However, this growing demand leads hosting and cloud service providers to receive and store very large amounts of backup data.

To address this market demand, Veeam® Availability Suite™ combines with Hewlett Packard Enterprise Apollo Servers Series to help you build your Backup as a Service offerings, while optimizing costs and space in your data centers.

Download this Veeam Deployment Guide, and you’ll learn:

  • Deployment scenarios and recommendations
  • How to configure an HPE Apollo 4200 Server for Veeam Availability Suite
  • Density and cost comparison
