Can Veeam Endpoint Backup FREE be used to back up physical servers? Can it be used as an enterprise physical server backup tool?
Customers can use Veeam Endpoint Backup FREE to back up those few remaining physical Windows servers in their environment. Veeam Endpoint Backup FREE does not scale beyond a few servers, however, and does not implement server-specific backup features (e.g., Veeam advanced application-aware processing, support for server clusters, etc.).
Can Veeam Endpoint Backup FREE create application-consistent backups of my computer?
Yes, Veeam Endpoint Backup FREE integrates with Microsoft VSS to provide application-level and file system level consistency.
Is Veeam Endpoint Backup FREE part of Veeam Backup & Replication or Veeam Availability Suite?
No, while Veeam Endpoint Backup FREE optionally integrates with the Veeam Backup & Replication, it is a separate FREE product that does not require the purchase of any other Veeam products to work.
Can Veeam Endpoint Backup FREE be used to back up phones, tablets, or other mobile devices?
Veeam Endpoint Backup is intended for x86 Windows-based desktops, laptops and tablets only.
What is Veeam’s support policy for Veeam Endpoint Backup FREE?
Because it is a free product, Veeam Endpoint Backup FREE will be supported through Veeam’s free product support policy. According to this policy, Veeam will attempt to provide support for users of Veeam Endpoint Backup FREE, however, Veeam does not provide response goals or response guarantees for this service.
However, we highly encourage all users to submit any issues they face with as much details as possible through the support issue submission system built into the product. All submitted issues will be carefully investigated and addressed in the following product updates.
What if I have an issue with Veeam Backup & Replication integration functionality?
If you believe the issue is not specific to Veeam Endpoint Backup FREE (for example, a generic backup repository issue), and have an active maintenance agreement, you can open a support case normally. If during the investigation, the issue is found to be specific to Veeam Endpoint Backup FREE, your support case will be transferred into the free products support queue.
