How to Generate/Use SFTP for Veeam Support Case

In the course of working with Veeam Support you may be asked to provide log files. As a primary means of attaching these to the case you can use the add logs option in the customer portal.

As an alternative option for providing log files to support you can generate an SFTP account via the customer portal. This article will document how to create and use SFTP.

Generate SFTP Account

To generate an SFTP account for your case please login to the Customer Portal ( and click on the 3-dot-menu next to the case and then select "Generate SFTP Account" (img #1). Once the account is created you will be redirected to the case details page where the SFTP details will be listed (img #2).

If you do not see the "Generate SFTP account" option in the menu, then an SFTP account has already been created. To view the SFTP information click "Update case"
  • Please place files in the /upload/ folder.
  • Once you have completed the log upload process you must reply to the case and notify the support engineer that logs have been uploaded.
