We now support VMware Cloud on Dell EMC

The shift away from physical workload instances is happening. Worldwide spending on public cloud services and infrastructure will more than double by 2023, according to IDC, attaining a 22.3% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) and spending reaching nearly $500 billion. As a result, capabilities such as disaster recovery via a cloud service, the ability to move workloads from on-premises to the cloud or the ability to migrate workloads across public clouds, have become paramount features of innovative data management solutions.

Veeam customers are certainly taking advantage of support for infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS) or software as a service (SaaS) offerings, with nearly a third running workloads in the cloud, per the 2020 Cloud Data Management Survey. Veeam is a pioneer in this space, delivering bullet-proof availability for multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud environments. We continue to offer our customers new and unique ways to achieve this availability. I am delighted to announce today that Veeam Backup & Replication is available to customers of VMware Cloud on Dell EMC.

On May 21, the second generation of VMware Cloud on Dell EMC, a fully managed VMware Cloud service, was unveiled. For customers with limited IT staff, managing infrastructures remotely and managing at scale can prove difficult. VMware Cloud on Dell EMC provides a fully managed cloud service that enables customers to rely on VMware as a single point of contact to service those locations as necessary.

But managing IT doesn’t end with infrastructure management. As enterprises accelerate adoption of hybrid-cloud implementations, they need to migrate workloads to the cloud simply and efficiently, while also leveraging their investment in Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) technologies. Customers benefit from a combination of Veeam and VMware Cloud on Dell EMC. This combination blends the capabilities of VMware vSphere, vSAN and NSX in private, public and hybrid-cloud environments and leverage Veeam’s industry-leading backup and replication solutions. Customers can confidently protect their data in the data center and at the edge without living on the edge!

“VMware Cloud on Dell EMC provides customers an opportunity to combine the simplicity and agility of a VMware-based public cloud with the security and control of an on-premises infrastructure, delivered as a service,” said Pat Lee, VP Strategic & Emerging Partners at VMware.

“We’re excited to work with partners such as Veeam to enhance native VMware Cloud on Dell EMC capabilities and empower customers with flexibility and choice in solutions that can drive business value.”

I am excited about this announcement, as it reaffirms Veeam’s commitment to delivering availability for any service, across any platform. I encourage you to join us at VeeamON, June 17-18, to find out more about how Veeam helps customers protect their data no matter where it resides. Until then, please connect with one of our local team members to learn more!
