Consider the following scenario:
You're running Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 with the latest Windows updates installed. During the installation of a Veeam Agent CBT driver you get an error:
Microsoft Windows Security Update KB3033929 is missing
On a standalone installation the error looks like this:
On a managed installation the error is the same:
KB3033929 is most likely not installed. Install this KB update from the Microsoft Update Catalog.
If KB3033929 is already installed, you may get the following message:
KB3033929 is a part of Monthly Quality Rollup updates from Microsoft Corporation. If you have at least October, 2016 Security Monthly Quality Rollup (KB3185330) or later installed on your system, you can apply the following registry value on the Veeam Agent machine (Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows service restart is required) and continue installation:
Path:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Veeam\Veeam Endpoint Backup
NOTE! Make sure that you have at least KB3033929 installed in your system. Installing a CBT driver on a Windows Server without any updates will cause boot issues.
