VeeamON Forums and VeeamON Update Have Concluded, What’s Next?

What a year. I have had the privilege of being involved in every VeeamON franchise product since the beginning in 2014. I can tell you that VeeamON is back, the audience is ready for more and it’s as good a time as ever to be aligned to Veeam.

VeeamON 2022 – back in the game

This year had VeeamON return to a hybrid format in 2022; Las Vegas was a great destination, and we had a solid collection of customers, partners, prospects and more to engage in the hybrid format. We’ve also learned a few things, hybrid is hard. I take great passion in the overall content product experience at VeeamON and we saw V12 showcased to the world for the very first time. Friends, V12 will be a game changer (more on that later). VeeamON 2022 saw everything from the first previews of V12 and solid best practice, field proven information for the best in Modern Data Protection for the current product portfolio. And if you didn’t catch it, yes, Kirsten Stoner had Veeam ONE trigger a smart power plug to turn on a light and bubble machine.

VeeamON Forums and Tours around the World

After VeeamON 2022 in Las Vegas, there was a strong global return of VeeamON Forums and Tours around the world. I personally had the pleasure of attending the events in Sydney, Buenos Aires, São Paulo and Geneva. Our regional teams delivered events worldwide and demand was strong for them. In fact, there are even some events happening into November of 2022! You can follow the #VeeamONForum hashtag on Twitter to see the action throughout the year.

Here are some of the favorite pics of the VeeamON Forum series that I took this year:

This brings me to VeeamON Update. I think this is an important vehicle also as it provides, well, an update since May. We’ve passed through two betas of V12 and are in the final beta at the time of VeeamON Update. We also got to a readiness point with Azure immutability in V12, a highly anticipated capability and I was happy to showcase that at VeeamON Update. The latest research on Cloud Protection Trends was debuted as well as new capabilities for Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365. What is also interesting is that VeeamON Update 2021 was when the Veeam Backup for Salesforce product was announced, and it went generally available last week! We concluded the VeeamON Update 2022 with a new experience, the Ask Me Anything, where I had Veeam’s CTO Danny Allan as well as the Veeam Product Strategy Team on the hot seat for live questions from the attendees. This was fun, need to allocate more time to this for 2023!

What now?

What’s next from Veeam? Danny indicated that we are soon to announce the V12 Launch Event which is scheduled for Jan. 31, this will be epic as well. I’m preparing a number of resources to help guide customers on the journey to the new platform. I felt the V11 Upgrade Center was a big hit, so I’m going to do it again for V12 and it will be available at GA. This is also a good time to give a hygiene check to your Veeam Backup & Replication installations. Ensure the configuration backup is done, check that you have your encryption passwords (and rotate them if you are due!), Windows and Linux updates, get ready for V12!
