“Stacks” of Innovation from Veeam and Microsoft

I’m in Orlando with my emotions torn.

Firstly, I feel humbled by the welcome all of those attending Microsoft Ignite have received from a city that has been through so much in the past few weeks. Hurricane Irma inflicted so much destruction and devastation across the state, and to be welcomed in such a warm way by folks who are still picking up the pieces proves that human spirit and determination can overcome so much. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected, and we all hope that the worst is over.

Secondly, I am super excited about this week. I’ve been to Ignite many times, several while carrying a Microsoft business card, but to be here wearing Veeam-green and at a time when the Veeam-Microsoft relationship has never been stronger, delights me. And this is a BIG show for our two companies.

Over the past year, Veeam and Microsoft have been working closely to ensure data protection and Availability across multi-cloud environments. At VeeamON in May, we announced a raft of innovations to deliver the Digital Life experience users expect, including Veeam Recovery to Microsoft Azure, native support for cloud object storage in Azure Blob, Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows and Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365. Major innovations from long-time innovators, but at Ignite we are adding to this.

I am delighted to announce that Veeam will be one of the launch partners supporting Microsoft Azure Stack, extending Veeam’s #1 Availability capabilities to provide data protection and Availability across the Microsoft Cloud. Azure Stack is a game-changer in terms of bringing the agility and innovation of the cloud to on-premises environments. And this is a major plus for organizations across the globe; many have a cloud-first strategy these days and by extending our strategic partnership with Microsoft to ensure Availability for any application, any data, across any cloud is further proof of why Veeam is so critical to this market.

Those who know me understand that I’m a “glass half full” kind of guy, but what Veeam is doing with Microsoft right now, and especially with today’s announcement as further validation of our strategy, gets me excited. If you, or anyone you know, is on the cusp of that jump to the cloud, you must get them to talk to our team. A game-changing conversation if ever there was one, and once again, I want to say a huge thanks to everyone in Orlando for your hospitality at Ignite.
