Purpose

This article provides information about compatibility between vSphere and Veeam Backup & Replication.

Solution

The vSphere versions indicated in this article include all related patches for that version.

For example, an entry for x.0 would also include x.0a, x.0b, and x.0c.

All vSphere versions listed in the following table are supported by the most recent Veeam Backup & Replication version.

vSphere versions that are no longer supported by the most current version of Veeam Backup & Replication can be found in the Previously Supported table, along with a listing of the final version of Veeam Backup & Replication that supported them.

Note: Presently, 4K native (4Kn) disks are not supported.
8.0 U3 12.2 (build 12.2.0.334)

Note: Technically, Veeam Backup & Replication 12.1.2 provided compatibility-level support with known issues. Veeam Backup & Replication 12.2 (12.2.0.334) brought full support for vSphere 8.0 U3.
8.0 U2

12.1 (build 12.1.0.2131)

Note: Technically, Veeam Backup & Replication 12 P20230718 provided Compatibility-level support only, meaning new features introduced in vSphere 8.0 U2 were not supported by 12 P20230718. Veeam Backup & Replication 12.1 (12.1.0.2131) brought full support for vSphere 8.0 U2.
