Challenge

When attempting to restore data Veeam Explorer for Microsoft Exchange, Veeam Explorer for Microsoft SharePoint or Veeam Explorer for Microsoft OneDrive for Business, the following error occurs:
Incompatible Veeam Backup for Office 365 server version (received: X.X.X.XXX, expected: Y.Y.Y.YYY).
Impatible Version Error

Cause

This error occurs when the installed version of Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 is higher than what the Veeam Explorer application was designed to support.

Solution

Update Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 and the Veeam Explorers to the Latest Version

The simplest way to resolve this version mismatch is to update to the most recent version of Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365, which will also update the Veeam Explorers to versions that are compatible.

  1. Download the ISO for the latest version of Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365
  2. Upgrade to the latest version of Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365

 

If the error with Veeam Explorers persists after upgrading, please gather logs and create a Support Case.
