Does Veeam deliver the training?
All Veeam instructor-led training is delivered by Veeam Authorized Education Centers (VMAECs), using only Veeam Certified Trainers (VMCT).
I am not close to a VMAEC. Where can I take a class?
We have a wide network of VMAECs covering many locations. If you can’t find one HERE, many VMAECs allow you to take the class in a “live online” format or as a remote student attending virtually in a classroom.
How much does the class cost?
Please request pricing from the VMAECs in your location.
Do you deliver the class in my language?
The courseware is in English, but the class is often delivered in the local language.
The class is not showing as complete on my profile. Why is this?
Once you have completed the class, your attendance is reported, verified and uploaded. This can take a week. If it is not complete after a week, please let us know on the email below.
Can I study online and sit the exam?
No, to sit any Veeam certification exam, you must attend a prerequisite class at a VMAEC.
I only work with VMware. Do I need to study the Microsoft content to pass the exam?
You need to study all the content provided in the class.
Does the class cover everything I need to pass the exam?
No, the class covers a lot of content examined in the class, but it is expected that you have a minimum of six months commercial experience with Veeam. It is also advised that you review labs (where available), release notes, user guides and demos to round out your knowledge.
I’m attending a class remotely. What do I need?
For the best experience, you should have a good quality internet connection and two monitors, but check with your VMAEC for specific needs.
How do I book an exam?
  1. Log in to your Propartner or Veeam Account (create and account if you do not have one using the email used when booking training)

  3. Select your desired exam and click the "Register for..." button.
  4. Find the Veeam Authorized Education Center and attend the training course.
  5. Click "Schedule exam" (for VMCE) or "Go to Pearson VUE" (for VMCE-Advanced) to schedule the exam.

What is the exam pass mark?
You will need a score of 70% or more to pass the exam.
How much time will I get to take the exam?
You will get 60 minutes. A 30-minute time extension is available to those sitting the exam in a second language
How many questions will I get?
You will get 50 questions for the VMCE exam and 40 questions for the VMCE-ADO exam.
Do I have to take a class before sitting the exam?
Yes, a class is a prerequisite for all our current exams.
How much does the exam cost?
Price is set country by country, so please check with Pearson VUE.
Why do I have to pay extra for the exam?
Some course attendees do not want to sit the exam.
Where do I sit the exam?
You can sit the exam at most Pearson VUE test centers.
I have taken the class and want to book the exam, but it’s grayed out on my profile. Why is this?
It can take up to a week for us to verify and upload course attendees. If it takes more than a week, it is often as a result of using different email addresses. If not, please email us and we will investigate.
Can I sit the exam straight away?
You can sit the exam as soon as your course attendance is verified. We do, however, recommend spending some time reviewing, revising and practicing to have the best chance of exam success.
How do I reschedule or cancel an exam?

If you wish to reschedule or cancel your exam, you may do this online via your account or contact the Pearson VUE Customer Service Team https://home.pearsonvue.com/veeam/contact at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled exam appointment.

NOTE: Rescheduling or cancelling less than 48 hours prior to your appointment will result in forfeiting your exam fee.

To cancel or reschedule an exam online, follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to your Veeam account.
  2. Go to My VMCE certification page.
  3. Select your desired exam and click "Schedule exam" (for VMCE) or "Go to Pearson VUE" (for VMCE-Advanced), which will then automatically sign you into your Pearson VUE account.
  4. Select either "Cancel" or "Reschedule."
I have failed the exam, when can I retake it?

There is a 24-hour waiting period after the first failed attempt and a 14-calendar day waiting period after the following three failed attempts (from the second to the fourth attempts) for certification exams.

After the fifth failed attempt, there is a 12-month waiting period or the candidate must submit a request and obtain permission from the VMCE Security Team — VMCE.Fraud@veeam.com — for each additional attempt.

After the candidate has waited 12 months, there is a 14-calendar day waiting period after the sixth to ninth failed attempts. After the tenth failed attempt, the candidate must wait 12 months or submit a request and obtain permission from the VMCE Security Team.

Once a candidate has passed an exam, he cannot take that exam again until a new major exam revision is released.

How do I get my certificate?

Log in to your Veeam account and go to the My VMCE certification page.

Be sure that your exam status is updated, then click “Download Certificate Image" (for VMCE v9) or "VMCE xxx certificate" (for VMCE v7, v8 and VMCE-Advanced) to view your certificate.

I have passed my exam but don’t have my certification yet. Why?
The verification process can take up to a week. If it is taking longer, please contact us.
Can I show my certificate in Acclaim?
Yes, if you have a Your Acclaim https://www.youracclaim.com/ account, this should show up automatically.
Does the certification expire?
Yes, the certification expires after two full versions.
Do I have to take the class again to upgrade my certification to v9?
No, you can sit the VMCE exam. We strongly recommend reviewing release notes, product demos and user guides before attempting. If you have not worked with Veeam for a while, taking the latest class would be advisable.
I have multiple accounts. How do I merge them?
Contact us with the details of each account and which account you would like as the primary.
I have changed employers. Can I take my certification with me?
Set up a new Veeam account with your current email address and contact us to merge them.
