Frequently Asked Questions

Which options do I have to attend a Veeam course?

The Veeam Education Program is continually evolving and adapting to meet new needs. Currently, we offer multiple options for attending our courses.

You can either attend the course in a classroom or remotely with an instructor (just available for Veeam Backup & Replication: Configure, Manage, and Recover), or you can choose the eLearning subscription mode, to attend the self-paced courses.

Check which option is available for the course you need on our main page.

What is Veeam University eLearning subscription?

The Veeam University eLearning subscription is a new approach to consume training that Veeam is implementing to provide partners and customers with subscription-based access to a comprehensive suite of courses.

This subscription is designed to enhance participants’ knowledge and skills in Veeam products and solutions.

How can the eLearning subscription be purchased?
The Veeam University PRO eLearning subscription is sold exclusively through the Veeam channel and selected Veeam Authorized Education Centers and cannot be purchased directly from Veeam. Partners purchase the subscription through authorized distributors or aggregators, while customers can purchase it through a Veeam VAR or VCSP. Both customers and partners can also purchase the subscription through Veeam Authorized Education Centers.
Why is Veeam University delivering eLearning by subscription?
The primary goals of the subscription model provide training participants with flexibility, and democratize access to training, making it more affordable and accessible for partners and customers and empower them with the skills needed to design, deploy, and operate Veeam Enterprise Data Resilience Solutions at scale, and minimizing costs for maximum ROI.
Are the instructor-led training courses still available?
Veeam Backup & Replication: Configure, Manage, and Recover training is still available instructor-led and delivered by Veeam Authorized Education Centers (VMAECs) and led by Veeam Certified Trainers (VMCTs) only. The rest of the trainings are just available on demand via elearning subscription.
Are the self-paced courses delivered by Veeam?
Self-paced courses are available through our Veeam Authorized Education Center Tsunati and they are distributed through our channel of distribution.
Where can I locate the list of instructor led Veeam Authorized Education Center (VMAEC)?
Veeam offers a wide network of VMAECs across the globe. You may search for your closest VMAEC location here.
Are courses available in different languages?
Veeam instructor-led courses are provided primarily in English, but classes are often delivered in the local language. Veeam on-demand trainings are only available in English.
Can I prepare and take only the exam, without attending a course?

To qualify to take any of Veeam certification exams, you must attend a pre-requisite class.

Check on our Training page which trainigs are needed for each certification

Will the class cover everything I need to pass the exam?

VMCE+ certification is a hard requirement for VMCSE certification.
Which certification exams are currently available?

At the moment, VMCA and VMCE certifications are retired.

What is and what are the training requirements for VMCE+ (coming soon)?

VMCE+ validates the ability to manage and optimize enterprise data protection with Veeam Data Platform at an advanced level, positioning the holder as a key contributor to operational resilience and business continuity VMCA-certified professionals can download their certification and badge directly from their Credly profile

To be eligible for VMCE+, learners must complete three trainings:

  • Veeam Backup & Replication: Configure, Manage, and Recover

  • Veeam Data Platform: Monitor, Manage, Analyze (Veeam ONE)

  • Veeam Data Platform: Scale, Automate, Secure (Veeam Orchestrator)

What is and what are the requirements for VMCSE certification?

VMCSE (coming soon) validates enterprise-ready skills for secure, compliant, and resilient data protection using Veeam Data Platform, including the ability to implement robust data protection strategies, defend against ransomware, and align backup security with enterprise cybersecurity frameworks.

To be eligible for VMCSE, learners must:

  • Hold a valid VMCE+ certification, and

  • Complete the Veeam Data Platform: Enterprise Data Security training (when it becomes available).

Do I have to repeat the “Veeam Backup and Recover” course if I already took it?

Not always:

  • Learners who have already completed Veeam Backup & Replication: Configure, Manage, and Recover v12 or v13 do not need to repeat it.

  • If a learner completed that training in any version older than v12, they must repeat the full VMCE+ sequence.

I have multiple accounts. How do I merge them?
Contact us with the details of each account and which account you would like as the primary. You can locate the support email address for your region in the “Contacts” section below.
How can I take my certification with me if I change employers?

Set up a new Veeam account with your updated email address and contact Veeam to merge the accounts and transfer certifications to your new Veeam account.

You can locate the support email address for your region in the “Contacts” section below.

If I already hold VMCE v12, does that automatically “upgrade” me to VMCE+?

No. VMCE v12 and VMCE+ are separate certifications, and holding VMCE v12 does not automatically create a progression path toward VMCE+.

However a VMCE v12 certification can serve as proof that the Veeam Backup & Replication: Configure, Manage, and Recover training requirement has been met, and learners do not need to repeat it.

Learners must still complete Veeam Data Platform: Monitor, Manage, Analyze (Veeam ONE) and  Veeam Data Platform: Scale, Automate, Secure (Veeam Orchestrator) to be eligible for the VMCE+ exam.

Is attending only the v13 “Veeam Backup & Replication: Configure, Manage, and Recover” class enough to earn VMCE+ eligibility?
No. Attending only Veeam Backup & Replication: Configure, Manage, and Recover v13 is not sufficient for VMCE+. All required trainings must be completed (including Veeam Data Platform: Monitor, Manage, Analyze (Veeam ONE) and Veeam Data Platform: Scale, Automate, Secure (Veeam Orchestrator)
