Insider Protection for Veeam Cloud and Service Providers

Veeam® introduced the concept of a recycle bin for customers sending off-site cloud backups to Veeam Cloud & Service Provider (VCSP) partners using Veeam Cloud Connect with the release of Veeam Backup & Replication™ 9.5 Update 3. This deleted backup protection, or insider protection, allows the VCSP partner to enable the deleted backup protection option for specific tenants. It also looks to add another level of data security for cloud-based backups in the case of a malicious user gaining access to the Veeam Backup & Replication console, or in the case of accidental deletion by an administrator.

This white paper dives into this feature and shows examples of how it works from the perspectives of the provider and tenant.
