The Fujitsu and Veeam partnership

On June 5, Fujitsu announced the Availability of ETERNUS CS800 S7 next-generation appliance for disk-based backup.

This announcement caused me to take a moment and reflect on the Fujitsu and Veeam partnership.

A quote that stuck with me over the years and reflects my values in partnerships is “When a larger goal can be established, companies can benefit from working together to breed innovation and arrive at the most effective solutions.” This is certainly evident in the dedication to the partnership that Fujitsu has exhibited in complimenting the Veeam Hyper-Availability Platform.

Like Veeam, Fujitsu is focused on changing the world of data management. This is not an easy and simple undertaking. It requires vision and courage to embark on a path of innovation that addresses current and future needs of both our customers.

Fujitsu is helping customers address the challenges of managing the volume of data with cost efficient solutions that are cloud capable. Specifically, the ETERNUS CS800 S7 data protection appliance can scale from 8 to up to 640TB and integrates Veeam capabilities to enable customers, regardless of size, to do more than just archive their data.

Fujitsu is a recent addition to the Veeam Alliance Partner Program, but a strong addition to the Veeam ecosystem as the world’s fifth-largest IT services provider and No.1 in Japan.

Fujitsu solutions aren’t just limited to servers, storage and integrated systems. Though Fujitsu is among the world’s top ten providers of servers, they are also considered by IDC to be a Major Player for IoT platforms.1

As IoT continues to increase its reach within physical devices like vehicles, appliances and basically any device with an on and off switch, the amount of additional data to manage will be staggering. Gartner has predicted that by 2020, there will be over 26 billion connected devices.2

While it may be impactful that, based upon traffic, your car can be connected to your calendar, which can be connected to your alarm clock and make sure your wake time is adjusted so you arrive at work on time, the bigger impact to businesses will be in leveraging this data for production optimization, supply chain management, asset tracking and even financial decision making. You need to manage data effectively to do this and the potential impact on the customer experience is staggering to fathom.

For businesses transforming their IT architecture via the implementation of Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI), Fujitsu provides a broad range of validated server configurations or VMware vSAN Ready Nodes. While these nodes come preloaded with VMware vSphere and vSAN, Veeam is ready to compliment your software-defined storage investment with smart logic, meaning faster backups and less network traffic, resulting in an even better ROI. Veeam Availability solutions, together with Fujitsu PRIMEFLEX systems offer a comprehensive management and protection approach for a full, end-to-end managed service.

A joint solution for Intelligent Data Management

I’ve mentioned before that we believe Veeam is changing the game. Fujitsu is an excellent addition to our alliance ecosystem and the possibilities are endless. With customers in more than 100 countries, Fujitsu is trusted by enterprises worldwide. As the global leader in Intelligent Data Management, Veeam, together with Fujitsu delivers Availability across the data center and the cloud so business can concentrate on growing their business while we protect it.

At VeeamON 2018, we outlined our vision to be the most trusted provider of intelligent data management solutions, meeting the expectations of a world that demands the Hyper-Availability of data. We want to give businesses the confidence they need that their data is Always-On, protected and secure, that it meets all the compliance and regulatory pressures that face the enterprise and that it can be leveraged for positive business value and innovation. Veeam enables the Hyper-Available enterprise.

Fujitsu is committed to this vision and partnership, fortifying that Fujitsu and Veeam are Better Together. We encourage you to observe this partnership so that you may share in the exciting future that awaits us.
