Veeam recognizes International Women’s Day

Today, March 8, is International Woman’s Day, a day where we celebrate women in every industry across the Globe. Throughout my career, I have worked at a variety of engineering and technology firms. It is in these industries where we always hear that women are underrepresented, with an average 80:20 men-to-women ratio. Thankfully, this is starting to change.

On the international stage, we now see women breaking the glass ceiling. In the technology industry, Sheryl Sandberg is the Chief Operating Officer of Facebook, Ginni Rometty is the Chief Executive Officer of IBM and Meg Whitman holds the position of Chief Executive Officer in Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE). Within Veeam, we have several women in key leadership positions at director ... Read more

How to choose a trusted cloud service provider

There’s a plethora of different cloud service providers out there. They range from traditional integrators offering backup services on top of their managed offerings to Information as a Service (IaaS) providers looking to specialize in business continuity and disaster recovery (DR), and even to the hyper-scale public clouds that offer platform services that can be consumed as part of an off-site backup solution. It’s important to understand the requirements around choosing cloud service providers that offer data backup, replication and recovery services, whether you are a large enterprise or a small-to-medium-size business (SMB).

Cisco HyperFlex snapshot integration coming soon with Veeam Availability Suite 9.5 Update 2

In early February 2017, Cisco announced their 2.0 release of HyperFlex. The noticeable innovations are the introduction of All Flash HX nodes with 3rd generation UCS Fabric networking, as well as even better support for data and I/O intensive applications. These innovations already enhance the existing flexible and modular platform, which combines compute performance nodes, hyper converged storage and networking.

But there is more in HX 2.0 than what is mentioned above.

Veeam and Cisco deliver hyper-Availability

Have you suffered downtime in your business over the past 12 months? If you have, you’re not alone. According to our 2016 Availability Report, on average, a business has 15 unplanned downtime events per year, and non-mission critical application downtime is increasing too. Added to that, less than half of the businesses tested their backups (yes, not all backups are successful!), and it paints a worrying picture, a picture that costs businesses around $16 million. Incredible isn't it?

Here at Veeam, the team has spent a lot of time thinking about this costly situation and working on products that help reduce risk of such costs. Today, we’re really Read more

Veeam, Novell and SUSE: New things you need to know

Veeam has a great relationship with Microsoft and, as a result, we have many industry-leading data protection options for Microsoft solutions. But what about heterogeneous environments? Many customers run a mixture of open source technologies and Microsoft technologies. Veeam Backup & Replication is agnostic as to the operating system running in a virtual machine, but specific features such as Application-aware Image Processing (AAIP) and File-Level Restore (FLR) must interact with the guest OS. That’s where our continued enhancements ensure that your environments are protected across a broad array of technologies.
