During the last few months, we’ve all had to adapt – professionally and personally. We’ve taken a new view on life in what has been a tumultuous year, approaching the way we live with a different perspective. We’ve tackled home-schooling, built home-office set-ups to ensure we can work from home, had to re-engineer our usual 9-5 routine to provide some semblance of a ‘work/life’ balance, and mastered (some us for the first time) video calling. The way we have adapted is awe-inspiring, but at the heart of such change technology has really come to the forefront.
Every aspect of our lives is touched – more than ever before – by technology. We rely on data, the cloud, seamless, uninterrupted access to information for all that we do. Sometimes we take it for granted, but for those of us in the technology industry, we know delivering a rich and consistent user experience is not easy. To protect and manage data in an online, multi-cloud world is complex. Today, Veeam addressed these challenges and helped organizations understand how to adopt Cloud Data Best Practices and deliver on users’ demands for a seamless digital experience with Veeam Live, a fully live one-day event designed to help organizations learn how to harness the power of their data by providing real-world best practice examples. You can check out all the recorded sessions here.
Veeam Live brought together industry experts from Veeam’s leadership team – including Bill Largent, CEO & Chairman, and Danny Allan, CTO & SVP of Product Strategy – customers including Royal Dutch Shell, Rabobank, Make-A-Wish and City of Sarasota (FL), industry analysts from 451 Research, ESG and IDC, and a special guest keynote by MK Palmore, former Special Agent of the FBI in charge of leading the cyber security investigative teams of the FBI in San Francisco, sharing inside tips on how organizations can combat cyber intruders.
In what is the first stop in a worldwide series of events, the agenda also featured insightful sessions like a first look at Veeam’s solution for Kubernetes data protection, based on Veeam’s recent acquisition of Kasten, as well an exclusive segment on the top 11 features in Veeam’s highly anticipated next release for Backup and Replication. Our focus is always on helping customer’s drive success, and we designed today’s event with that objective in mind. Veeam Live focused on three themes – Multi-Cloud, Cyber Security and Modern Data Protection – to help customers solve their biggest data challenges. We wanted customers to leave Veeam Live having heard best practice examples of how to up their data protection game and based on feedback so far, we did just that!
Within the packed agenda, Veeam Live’s keynotes provided early glimpses into Veeam’s upcoming announcements, including NEW Veeam Backup for Google Cloud Platform – Google-native Backup and recovery, delivering cost-effective, secure cloud mobility to complement Veeam’s existing cloud-native offerings for AWS and Azure IaaS workloads; and 11 new features of Veeam Availability Suite v11, including Continuous Data Protection (CDP), expanded Instant Recovery options to cover databases and NAS devices, object storage integration enhancements which now support archive-to-cloud and secure Linux repository, which helps customers achieve data immutability without storage lock-in. Both solutions will be formally announced in greater detail over the next few months and you can sign-up here to be alerted as soon as v11 becomes available.
At Veeam Live we also announced a new and exciting program to ensure we continue to stay connected with our customers and help them drive success – a new Community Resource Hub as well as a new community leadership group, Veeam Legends. This new hub, which is a complement to our outstanding and active technical forum, provides end users, partners, and industry influencers with a single place where they can share best practices, participate in virtual Veeam User Groups, grow as a Veeam pro by completing free, on-demand training through Veeam University and have fun by recognition and rewards. We want to continue the conversation well beyond Veeam Live, and these new community resources will enable us to do that.
Veeam Live comes at the end of what has been a successful year for Veeam. During 2020, Veeam has reported sequential double-digit annual recurring revenue (ARR) growth and is enjoying huge success in market adoption of its unique subscription offering, Veeam Universal License (VUL). Additionally, Veeam was named a LEADER in the 2020 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Data Center Backup and Recovery Solutions1, positioned as the highest for ability to execute.
I am delighted with what we delivered today with the help of our partners, customers and analysts, and the response we received from attendees was tremendous. But today was only the first in a number of events over the next few weeks. Veeam Live will next take place in local language on October 27 for the APJ region and then on November 12 in EMEA. Please join us at these events to learn how to harness Cloud Data Best Practices in your environments to help deliver the rich experience your users demand.
