The sky (well, the cloud) is the limit as Veeam announces Veeam Availability Suite for VMware Cloud on AWS

Cloud adoption is soaring. According to IDC, worldwide spending on public cloud computing will increase from $67 billion in 2015 to $162 billion in 2020, attaining a 19% CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) . The cloud is here to stay, and it’s only going to become more important.

As enterprises move to the cloud, however, ensuring data Availability has become more critical. This includes making sure that users can access information at any time and from anywhere. Veeam is a pioneer in this space, delivering bullet-proof Availability for multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud environments, regardless of whether the environment is private, public, managed or SaaS (Software as a Service). Taking this to the next level, as I walk the halls of VMworld 2017 in Las Vegas, I am delighted to announce today that Veeam Availability Suite will soon be available to customers of VMware Cloud on AWS. This is a major game-changer because VMware Cloud on AWS technology partners enable customers to deploy the same proven solutions seamlessly in both the public and the private cloud.

As enterprises accelerate adoption of hybrid-cloud implementations, they need to migrate workloads to the cloud simply and efficiently, while also leveraging their investment in Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) technologies. VMware simplifies deployment and eliminates the need for partners to refactor solutions for VMware Cloud on AWS. Customers also benefit from this combination of Veeam and VMware Cloud for AWS, which will blend the capabilities of VMware vSphere, vSAN and NSX in private, public and hybrid cloud environments and advanced AWS services, enabling enterprises to leverage Veeam’s industry-leading Availability solutions. It’s a win-win for customers!

Don’t just take my word for it:

“VMware Cloud on AWS provides customers a seamlessly integrated hybrid cloud offering that gives customers the SDDC experience from the leader in private cloud, running on the leading public cloud provider, AWS,” said Mark Lohmeyer, Vice President, products, Cloud Platforms Business Unit, VMware. “Solutions such as Veeam Availability Suite enable IT teams to reduce cost, increase efficiency and create operational consistency across cloud environments. We’re excited to work with partners such as Veeam to enhance native VMware Cloud on AWS capabilities and empower customers with flexibility and choice in solutions that can drive business value.”

I am excited about this announcement, which will be available soon, as it reaffirms Veeam’s commitment to delivering Availability for any service, across any platform. If you are in Vegas, I urge you to come and see us at VMworld to find out more. If not, then please connect with one of our local team members — you will not regret the conversation!
